We are looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead the growth and expansion of MEMO, an innovative telephone answering and business support service operating from the headquarters of Mango Direct Marketing.
MEMO provides professional telephone answering and customer support solutions to businesses across a range of sectors. Acting as an extension of our clients’ brands, we ensure every interaction is handled professionally, efficiently, and personally.

The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will take ownership of the full sales cycle, from lead generation and prospecting through to negotiation and closing deals. You will work closely with Mango’s experienced marketing and operational teams to deliver ambitious growth plans supported by significant investment in advertising, branding, and lead generation activity across digital, social media, radio, and other marketing channels. This role is ideal for someone with strong commercial awareness, entrepreneurial drive, and the ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial enquiry through to closing new business opportunities
- Generate new leads through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, LinkedIn, email campaigns, and telephone engagement
- Conduct client meetings both virtually and face-to-face
- Build strong relationships with prospective and existing clients
- Identify market trends and opportunities for service expansion
- Work collaboratively with the marketing team to develop campaigns and sales materials
- Negotiate commercial agreements and pricing structures
- Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management using CRM systems
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve revenue growth targets
- Represent MEMO and Mango Direct Marketing professionally within the marketplace
- Meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in business development, sales, account management, or revenue generation
- A motivated and commercially focused mindset with a strong desire to achieve results
- Excellent communication, presentation, networking, and negotiation skills
- Confidence in developing relationships with business owners and decision makers
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office packages
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel throughout NI/ROI and occasionally the UK
- Previous experience within contact centres, telecommunications, outsourced services, or B2B sales would be advantageous but is not essential.
