Manfreight are seeking an enthusiast, professional and self-motivated individual for the role of Health and Safety Officer. Working with the Group Health and Safety Manager, you would be a part of a well-established, award winning and growing multi-site organization.
The role:
- Promote health and safety within all parts of the business and all colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, company standards and third-party auditing standards.
- Prepare and deliver toolbox talks, safety training, colleague onboarding and record.
- Carry out and record periodic site inspections.
- Undertake risk assessments, safe working practices, record findings and deliver to relevant colleagues.
- Carry out and document accident/incident investigations in a timely manner identifying actions to reduce the chances of reoccurrence.
- Deputise for the H&S Manager, in his absence.
Essential Criteria:
- 3 years experience in a dedicated H&S role, ideally in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of UK HSE legislation.
- Demonstrate a passion for health and safety.
- NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and attention to detail.
- Able to work as a member of a team or alone to tight deadlines when required.
- Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Driving licence and access to transport to fulfil duties.
Desirable Criteria:
- NEBOSH diploma or similar degree.
This role will require travel across our various sites in Portadown and Belfast and on occasion perhaps Skelmersdale.
