Technical Author Location: Cheshire Salary: Up to 50,000 + Excellent Benefits, including Flexitime Position: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role Are you an autonomous Technical Author ready to take full ownership of an engineering documentation suite? Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, you will operate as sole Technical Author. You will produce, maintain and update critical technical publications, including comprehensive operation and maintenance manuals. This role requires gathering complex data from a wide range of internal and external sources to create clear, compliant and high-quality documentation. Main Objectives and Responsibilities * Content Creation: Create and edit operating instructions, maintenance procedures, schedules, illustrated parts data, spares lists and marketing leaflets. * Asset Generation: Generate high-quality illustrations from existing 3D CAD data, diagrams, and other visual aids. * Quality Assurance: Proofread documents thoroughly prior to publication to ensure they meet strict business and industry expectations. * Data Collation: Collate and verify technical information about products from multiple engineering and external sources. * Version Control: Utilise document management system to strictly control revision levels and documentation history.
