The Role
Are you an experienced CAD Technician looking to advance your career with a market-leading business? I am looking for a CAD Technician to join my client’s successful manufacturing business. Reporting directly to the Design Manager, you will translate architects' plans, site surveys and customer sketches into high-quality technical layouts and thermal calculations. You will play a vital commercial and technical role, ensuring accuracy from initial quotation through to manufacturing and on-site delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Drafting: Produce and modify 2D layout drawings reflecting real-world site conditions.
- Design Integration: Interpret intricate technical details and maintain design intent.
- Thermal Calculations: Perform thermal calculations.
- Component Scheduling: Generate itemised material schedules for accurate estimating, production pricing and structural build-ups.
- Commercial Awareness: Identify and flag projects with unusual build-ups or non-standard components requiring pricing reviews.
- Logistics Planning: Outline clear delivery schedules and distinct delivery zones.
