We are seeking a highly skilled Solderer for an ongoing contract in Berkshire. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the production of various types of cables.
Key Responsibilities
- Soldering Socapex connectors (18-way, cable sizes up to 2.5mm²) to a high and repeatable standard
- Preparing, stripping, tinning, and terminating cables accurately and efficiently
- Working from wiring diagrams, build sheets, and workshop instructions
- Maintaining clean, neat, and reliable solder joints suitable for professional power distribution equipment
- Conducting basic continuity and quality checks on completed assemblies
- Managing your own workflow to meet daily and weekly output targets
- Keeping your workstation organised, safe, and production-ready
- Collaborating with the workshop team to ensure smooth production flow
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven track record of fast, accurate soldering - this is non-negotiable
- Experience soldering multi-pin connectors (Socapex experience highly preferred)
- Basic knowledge of power and electrical principles (e.g., cable ratings, polarity, safe handling)
- Ability to follow technical drawings and wiring documentation
- Consistency: able to produce the same high standard repeatedly, not just occasionally
- Reliability and pride in workmanship
Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 5pm, and Friday 7.45am to 4pm
