We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic construction team delivering complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects. This is a key commercial role responsible for managing costs, contracts, and financial performance from project handover through to final account.
Key Responsibilities- Manage commercial delivery from project handover through to final account, ensuring effective control of budgets, costs, and progress.
- Conduct regular site visits, assess progress, value variations, and produce accurate commercial reports.
- Manage all contractual and commercial obligations, including negotiations, settlements, and payment processes.
- Procure, manage, and maintain relationships with subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Support estimating and bid activities, including strategy development, documentation, and client presentations.
- Maintain risk registers and contribute to proactive problem-solving across project teams.
- Lead and support Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, providing mentoring and development.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and company procedures.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or civil engineering sector.
- Strong understanding of commercial and contractual requirements.
- Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with valuations, variations, claims, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of construction methodologies such as M&E, steelwork, concrete, rail, or fire protection advantageous.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
- Competent in MS Office and commercial reporting tools.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate documentation.
- Professional, proactive approach with the ability to resolve disputes effectively.
