We are looking for an experienced

Welder to join a leading manufacturing business, producing high-quality aluminium welded assemblies for complex engineering projects.

Working from engineering drawings and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), you'll be responsible for manufacturing precision aluminium fabrications to the highest quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • MIG weld aluminium assemblies to engineering drawings and WPS.
  • Manufacture complex fabrications to tight dimensional tolerances.
  • Carry out visual inspections and support quality/NDT requirements.
  • Dress welds and remove defects using appropriate hand tools.
  • Complete production documentation and accurately record work completed.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and work safely in line with HSE procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and support production targets.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Time-served Welder with an NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent apprenticeship.
  • Experience welding aluminium within a heavy fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong MIG welding experience (TIG/MAG desirable).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Knowledge of BS EN ISO welding standards and quality requirements.
  • Understanding of welding defects, quality inspection and safe working practices.
  • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Desirable

  • Experience working on defence or other high-integrity fabricated products.
  • Knowledge of NDT inspection methods.
  • Experience with mechanised or robotic welding systems.
  • Familiarity with SAP or MRP systems.
