Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Build Technician to join their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the build, assembly, and installation of friction welding machinery. This position involves working with mechanical sub-assemblies such as spindles, clamps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, while collaborating closely with design and engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Fitting and assembling various machine unit assemblies (e.g., Spindles, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Lubrication systems)
- Reading and interpreting mechanical assembly drawings, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
- Installing hydraulic, lubrication, and pneumatic systems
- Performing onsite installations, upgrades, and repairs at customers' premises, both in the UK and worldwide
- Operating machine shop equipment such as millers, lathes, and grinders
- Communicating issues and solutions to the build and engineering teams
- Inspecting parts using precision measuring tools
- Participating in upfront project planning meetings and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
