We have an exciting opportunity for a Skilled Centreless Grinder to join our production team, reporting directly to the Production Manager. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer, preferably with an aerospace background, who takes pride in quality, precision, and continuous improvement. You’ll be responsible for setting and running centreless grinding machines, supporting second operations, and ensuring all work meets strict quality and health & safety standards - all within a zero-defect, high-performance manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and run centreless grinders, including Wickman Scrivener, Ghiringhelli, Cincinnati, or Tschudin machines (essential)
  • Operate Myford Grinder (desirable)
  • Support 2nd operation machines as required, including thread rolling, part marking, drill banks, depitching presses, torque testers, and deburring equipment
  • Carry out first-off, buddy checks, and job-run inspections for 1st and 2nd operations
  • Maintain machine efficiency to meet OTD, PPH, arrears, and KPI targets
  • Reduce scrap and rework, reporting improvements to the Production Manager
  • Complete daily maintenance checks and cycle timesheets
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant working environment at all times

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong understanding of aerospace standards
  • Proven experience setting and running manual centreless grinders
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Excellent measurement skills, including micrometers and tight tolerances
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • A team-focused mindset with strong communication skills
