A leading UK aerospace manufacturer is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to support the introduction of new products and design changes, as well as provide ongoing technical support for their existing product portfolio. The successful candidate will define and validate production methods, develop manufacturing instructions and tooling, and ensure all processes meet robust quality standards. They will also identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency, reliability, and overall operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production processes, including manufacturing instructions, stage drawings, and tooling requirements.
- Support the implementation of design changes and new product introductions.
- Ensure all manufacturing processes meet high-quality standards and compliance requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation, including instructions, stage drawings, and tooling records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production targets, timelines, and budgets are met.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Support problem-solving initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Candidate Profile
- Recognised engineering qualification (minimum HNC).
- 4-5 years' experience in production engineering within aerospace or a regulated high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in 3D CAD and CAM systems.
- Strong understanding of technical documentation, process validation, and quality compliance.
- Experience with problem-solving tools (5 Why's, Ishikawa, 8D) and risk management (PFMEA) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is beneficial.
- Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills.
