Support the business by ensuring the capability and alignment of the Quality Management System with regulatory standards, customer expectations, and internal processes. Drive continuous product quality improvement through robust root cause analysis, while contributing to a reduction in the cost of poor quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and submit First Article Reports (FAIRs) to customers; validate incoming supplier reports.
  • Monitor internal product quality issues and escalate where necessary.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams to implement effective corrective actions.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of quality metrics.
  • Release products in accordance with EASA Form 1, CAA Part 21 & 145, FAR 145, and Certificates of Conformity.
  • Achieve and maintain delegated quality responsibility from customers, delegating where appropriate.
  • Lead and host audits conducted by customers and third parties.
  • Carry out internal audits in line with the company programme.
  • Deputise for the Quality Manager when required.

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in internal audits and action issues for areas of responsibility.
  • Undertake training as required.
  • Support colleagues and departments during periods of reduced staff attendance.
  • Perform ad hoc duties such as training, cross-departmental support, or secondments.
  • Recommend improvements to Business Management System processes and guidelines.

Professional Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven track record in a Quality Engineering role within aerospace/defence or complex operations environments.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for aerospace and defence product supply.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and FAA standards/regulations.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Ability to interpret and present to small groups and senior management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to produce comprehensive reports.
