Main purpose and scope of job
To oversee the end to end sales process for both matrix and bespoke contracts. To provide quotes to both matrix and bespoke customers. To provide excellent customer service. Grow our business by securing new customers, selling additional services to existing customers and cross selling with other departments.
Functional responsibilities
- To achieve both personal and team targets.
- To contribute to sales reports where required by the Head of UCM.
- Understand the needs for different types of clients, tailoring relevant products to them.
- Collect accurate information from prospects to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Manage pipeline effectively including logging of won and lost business for reporting purposes.
- Identify cross‑selling opportunities for other areas of the business.
- Be fully responsible for the quality of sale up to the supply going live.
- To prepare for huddles and team meetings with potential leads, successes and issues for discussion.
- To follow the sales process to ensure consistency, suggesting improvements where necessary.
- Ensure all tasks are logged, noted and monitored efficiently in the system to ensure a high standard of service is met.
- To ensure sufficient support and accurate information is provided to the contract admin team.

Knowledge and Expertise
- 5 GCSEs A-C or equivalent including Maths & English.
- Business to business sales experience including telesales.
- The sale of utilities contracts – electricity, gas, water.
Communication
- Communicates clearly and logically, verbally and in writing, using concise, jargon‑free language.
- Proficient in making sales‑related telephone calls including "cold" calling.

- Actively contributes to the team, understanding the impact of own role on the overall team.

- Recognises importance of delivering own and team objectives but particularly when completion of objectives is threatened, keeping people informed and seeking help from others.
