An opportunity has arisen for Manufacturing Engineers to support aerospace Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operations within a highly regulated defence aviation environment based in Middle Wallop.

Working within a production and support engineering team, the successful candidates will help improve operational efficiency, optimise workflows, support production planning activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Apache fleet maintenance operations.

This role would suit candidates with experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, production support, or operational improvement within aerospace, defence, or other complex technical industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse production and operational processes to identify improvements in efficiency, flow, cost, and quality
  • Support development and optimisation of manufacturing and support processes, work methods, and resource utilisation
  • Assist with production planning, workload balancing, line flow analysis, and capacity assessments
  • Conduct time studies, process mapping, and development of standard work documentation
  • Identify bottlenecks, constraints, and opportunities for lean process improvements using operational data
  • Support implementation of process changes, operational improvements, and work instructions
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, production, and operations teams to resolve process issues
  • Assist with reporting activities relating to productivity, operational performance, and schedule adherence
  • Contribute to facility layout, tooling, and process optimisation activities where required
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to production inefficiencies
  • Develop Aurora models to support production planning and schedule analysis
  • Create precedence networks to sequence work activities and assess schedule dependencies
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to support programme delivery
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, production support, or operations improvement
  • Experience analysing workflows, processes, or production systems
  • Ability to use data to support planning, process improvement, and operational decision-making
  • Experience developing precedence networks and production schedules
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, or Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Experience within a fast-paced production or operational environment
  • Knowledge of production planning, capacity analysis, or workload balancing
  • Experience using manufacturing or industrial engineering tools, metrics, and reporting methods
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
  • Aerospace or defence industry experience beneficial

You must be eligible to obtain and maintain BPSS clearance.
