We are seeking a Process Engineer to support engineering governance, process improvement and compliance across complex, highly regulated programmes within defence and aerospace environments. You will play a key role in ensuring robust, standardised and auditable engineering processes, supporting delivery across the full product lifecycle – from development and design through to production, support and maintenance. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in process engineering, quality systems and systems engineering integration, who thrives in a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and govern engineering processes and process models
  • Support integration of processes across design, production and support lifecycle stages
  • Define and map processes (e.g., SIPOCs) to capability frameworks
  • Ensure alignment with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 / AS9100)
  • Support audits, gap analysis, KPI development and CAPA activities
  • Drive standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop process documentation, training and onboarding materials
  • Support engineering governance forums and cross‑functional working groups
  • Provide oversight and support to Technical Design Reviews (TDRs)
  • Enable effective process strategy and design practice integration across programmes

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong experience in process engineering and governance
  • Proven ability to develop and document engineering processes and frameworks
  • Experience supporting audits, root cause analysis and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of engineering lifecycle (design, production, support, maintenance)
  • Experience working with QMS frameworks (ISO 9001 / AS9100)
  • Familiarity with PLM, ERP or MOM systems
  • Understanding of UK defence standards (DEF STAN, JSP)
  • Exposure to Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE / SysML) (desirable)
