We are currently seeking an experienced BIM Technician to join a leading M&E Engineering company supporting works on the HS2 project in Birmingham. Based out of our London office, the successful candidate will play a key role in the production, coordination, and management of BIM models and technical drawings for large-scale infrastructure and rail projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UK’s most high‑profile infrastructure projects within a fast‑paced and collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and develop coordinated 3D BIM models for mechanical and electrical building services
- Create detailed technical drawings and layouts using Revit and AutoCAD
- Support project teams with BIM coordination and clash detection processes
- Work closely with design engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure accurate model delivery
- Ensure BIM deliverables meet project specifications, client standards, and HS2 requirements
- Participate in design reviews and coordination meetings
- Maintain accurate model documentation and drawing registers
- Assist with model updates throughout project lifecycle stages
- Ensure compliance with BIM Level 2 standards and company procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a BIM Technician within M&E Building Services
- Strong proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD
- Experience working on large-scale construction, rail, infrastructure, or commercial projects
- Understanding of BIM workflows, standards, and coordination processes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Desirable
- Previous HS2, rail, or infrastructure project experience
- Navisworks experience for clash detection and coordination
- Understanding of BIM Level 2 / ISO 19650 standards
- Experience working within an M&E contractor or engineering consultancy environment
