Key Responsibilities
- Prepare project documentation, technical reports and completion records.
- Support tender preparation through development of methodologies, equipment schedules and pricing information.
- Act as the primary technical and operational point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate project activities and monitor performance against programme requirements.
- Oversee daily site operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to specification.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships throughout project lifecycles.
- Review contract requirements and ensure all operational activities are delivered in accordance with agreed procedures, standards and deadlines.
- Provide technical support during client meetings and business development activities.
- Supervise site personnel and subcontractors, ensuring effective task allocation and performance management.
- Monitor ongoing works and provide technical guidance to project teams.
- Support the development and mentoring of junior personnel.
- Plan and track project progress, including revisions to work packs, procedures and Management of Change processes.
- Promote strong teamwork and collaboration across project teams.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) management systems.
- Prepare and contribute to project documentation including: Project Quality Plans, Risk Assessments, Safe Job Analyses (SJA), Technical Reports, Management Reports.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and industry standards.
- Undertake offshore visits and travel as required.
Qualifications
- Preferred Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
- HNC, HND, BTEC Level 4 or City & Guilds qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to obtain: Renewable UK (RUK) Wind Turbine Medical, GWO Basic Safety Training certification.
- Technical Certifications (Desirable): Electrical Installation, High Voltage Cable Jointing, High Voltage Cable Testing, Fibre Optic Termination and Testing, COMPEX, Transformer Installation, Inspection and Maintenance, Switchgear Installation, Inspection and Maintenance.
- Particularly desirable experience in: VLF Testing, Partial Discharge Testing, Tan Delta Testing, Damped AC Testing, Fibre Optic Testing and Fault Finding.
Experience
- Essential Previous experience within Power Transmission, Renewables, Offshore Wind, Utilities, or Oil & Gas sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of High Voltage cable testing, commissioning and termination activities.
- Experience with HV testing equipment and associated procedures.
- Knowledge of fibre optic testing and termination practices.
- Desirable Leading onsite delivery of HV cable testing and commissioning projects.
- Offshore renewables experience.
- Project management and delivery experience.
- Budget management, cost control and financial reporting.
- Experience with offshore electrical installations and maintenance.
- Working within multidisciplinary project environments.
