They specialise in the maintenance, inspection, and repair of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for use around the clock. Their skilled team works closely with airline engineering departments, providing both hands-on technical support and operator training to maintain the highest safety standards.
The Role
We are recruiting for a GSE / HGV Technician to join the team at Manchester Airport. This role is split between workshop duties and on-airfield support, working on a wide range of Ground Support Equipment and diesel vans. You will carry out pre-use checks, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs, ensuring equipment is safe, compliant, and available to support aircraft engineering teams at all times. Please note: An airside pass will be applied for as part of the onboarding process.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, service, and repair a wide range of GSE and diesel vehicles
- Carry out pre-use checks, defect identification, and fault rectification
- Support engineering operations both in the workshop and on the airfield
- Ensure all tooling and equipment meet compliance and safety requirements
- Provide immediate technical support to airline engineering teams
- Deliver pre-use check training to operators when required
What We're Looking For
- Experience maintaining GSE, HGVs, LGVs, plant equipment, forklifts, or similar heavy machinery
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills
- Ability to perform inspections, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs independently
- Knowledge of airline engineering or airport operations is helpful but not essential
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience delivering training is an advantage
