We are seeking an experienced M&E Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient delivery of mechanical works on a major project in Swansea. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site activities, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance, while coordinating subcontractors and site personnel to meet programme deadlines.

This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring strong leadership, excellent communication skills and a thorough understanding of mechanical installation works within a construction or utilities environment.

Location: Swansea

Contract: 6 Months

Hours: 50 hours per week

Rate: £400 per day

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day mechanical installation activities on site.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures, client requirements and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise mechanical operatives, subcontractors and specialist contractors.
  • Plan daily work activities to ensure project milestones and programme deadlines are achieved.
  • Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks and safety inspections.
  • Monitor quality standards and ensure installations comply with drawings, specifications and relevant regulations.
  • Ensure all lifting operations are planned and carried out safely in accordance with lifting procedures.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients and other trades to coordinate site activities.
  • Identify and resolve technical and operational issues on site.
  • Complete site documentation including permits, inspections, progress reports and quality records.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture across the project.
  • Ensure all personnel comply with site rules, risk assessments and safe systems of work.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • NG Competent Person (NSI 6 & 8 Full).
  • Lift Supervisor qualification.
  • Proven experience supervising mechanical installation works on construction, utilities or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and installation practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Skills:

  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
  • CSCS Supervisor Card.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Experience working on National Gas or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Temporary Works or Appointed Person knowledge.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
