We are seeking a Senior Cost Manager to join the Central PMO team for Sizewell C (SZC). In this pivotal role, you will act as a driving force within the Project Controls centre of excellence, ensuring world-class oversight, assurance, and continuous improvement across the project's entire cost management framework.

The Role & Impact

As a senior leader in the Central PMO, you will work closely with the functional Cost Lead, providing first-line assurance for cost data across delivery teams and frequently deputising for the lead to coordinate Executive Cost Steering Committees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • First Line of Defence: Provide rigorous assurance and oversight of all cost data provided by Programme Delivery teams, ensuring alignment with the project drumbeat.
  • Strategic Analysis: Deliver high-level, insightful 'so what' narrative and financial analysis to support executive leadership, boards, and investors in critical decision-making.
  • Digital Innovation: Advance and champion the 'Digital by Default' initiative, ensuring strict adherence to advanced cost management software and infrastructure.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Own the month-end data production, quality management, performance reporting, and accurate assessment of current project forecasts (including trends and approved changes).
  • Team Leadership: Act as a prominent people leader, mentoring the team, supporting continuous professional development, and fostering a high-performing culture.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Mega-Project Experience: Proven, demonstrable experience working within a Cost Management function on a UK or global Mega-Project.
  • Comprehensive Scope Knowledge: In-depth understanding of cost principles across both supply chain-delivered and client-delivered scope.
  • Executive Presence: Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with comfort presenting to Delivery Teams, Functions, Executive Boards, and Investors alike.

Qualifications:

A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business Analysis, or a related technical field.

Autonomy: Deep knowledge of Project Controls functions, allowing you to execute assurance activities independently without reliance on the functional lead.

What’s on Offer?

  • A premium contract rate of £100/hr (PAYE).
  • The chance to play a defining role in one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure and clean energy developments.
  • 4-week notice period offering strong contract stability.
  • Prior-agreed travel expenses in line with company policy.
