We are seeking an experienced Composite Fitter to support the manufacture, repair, and assembly of composite structures within the aerospace sector. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on skills in bonding, riveting, and precision fitting, with experience working to aerospace standards.
The Composite Fitter will play a crucial role in the aerospace industry, focusing on the manufacture, assembly, and fitting of composite components.
Responsibilities:- Manufacture, assemble, and fit aerospace composite components.
- Carry out composite lay-up, trimming, drilling, and finishing operations.
- Perform bonding operations using adhesives, films, and structural bonding techniques.
- Conduct riveting and mechanical fastening to aerospace specification.
- Work from engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Ensure all components meet required aerospace quality and inspection standards.
- Perform rework and repairs on composite structures as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment in compliance with health & safety procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet delivery deadlines.
- Previous experience as a Composite Fitter / Laminator / Aircraft Fitter in the aerospace industry.
- Strong competency in bonding, riveting, drilling, and fitting of composite and metallic components.
- Ability to interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of aerospace standards and quality requirements.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Rate: Β£30 per hour
