The Opportunity
Are you a Risk or Project Controls professional looking to make your mark on a massive, high-profile transport infrastructure development? We are seeking a Risk Manager to join the risk team driving a major transformation programme at Stansted. This is a brilliant opportunity to embed a proactive risk culture across a multi-million-pound portfolio, facilitating workshops, executing quantitative analysis, and directly influencing programme-level decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Workshop Facilitation: Prepare, coordinate, and lead monthly project and programme-level risk workshops with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
- Risk Analysis: Support qualitative and quantitative risk analysis processes—including QCRA (Quantitative Cost Risk Analysis) and QSRA (Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis)—using industry tools.
- Data Management: Own, maintain, and update the programme risk database (riskHive), ensuring absolute data integrity, accuracy, and compliance.
- Reporting & Governance: Produce high-quality monthly risk reports, change management impact assessments, and narrative slides for executive Management Progress Reviews (MPRs).
- Culture Champion: Actively promote a proactive risk-aware culture across the transformation lifecycle, onboarding and training internal teams where needed.
What We Are Looking For
- Infrastructure Experience: Proven track record supporting risk management or project controls within transport, aviation, defence, energy, or major complex infrastructure environments.
- Methodology Alignment: Strong working knowledge of ISO 31000, APM, or IRM risk principles.
- Toolbox Familiarity: Experience with (or a keen willingness to master) risk management systems such as riskHive, PRA, Safran, ARM, or @Risk.
- Qualifications: A relevant degree/diploma or equivalent experience. Foundational project or risk management certifications (e.g., APM, IRM) are highly desirable.
- Vetting Readiness: Must hold or be eligible to achieve BPSS clearance as a baseline, with the ability to clear Counter-Terrorism Check (CTC) and secure an airside pass.
