Mane is currently seeking an experienced and driven Site Engineer to join its high-performing project team based in London Docklands. This firm specialises in the delivery of complex projects within Critical Environments, including Data Centres, Life Sciences, Aviation, High Value Manufacturing, and Logistics Infrastructure. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile developments for major clients, in a dynamic and progressive environment.
Reporting To: Senior Engineer / Project Manager
Purpose of the Role
The Site Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effective execution of technical aspects on-site, including setting out, quality control, and supporting project delivery to programme, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all setting out, levelling, and surveying duties on-site with accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist with site supervision and the coordination of subcontractor activities to ensure work is carried out in accordance with design specifications and standards.
- Monitor quality control, ensuring compliance with project specifications and Building Control regulations.
- Liaise with the Senior Engineer, Project Manager, and site team to communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
- Prepare and maintain site records including daily reports, RFIs, and site diaries.
- Assist with the implementation of temporary works and ensure that Health & Safety procedures are strictly followed on site.
- Participate in technical meetings with design teams and subcontractors to resolve engineering queries and progress issues.
- Support the preparation and coordination of shop drawings, as-built documentation, and handover information.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years’ site experience in a similar role, ideally with a main contractor.
- Strong understanding of construction techniques, temporary works, and quality standards.
- Confident in the use of setting out equipment (e.g. Total Station, GPS, Auto Level).
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; experience with MS Project and common data environments (e.g. Procore) is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude to problem solving.
