We are seeking a skilled Senior Satellite Communications Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will bring both technical and commercial expertise to provide valuable support to our customers. You will work on advanced satellite communications networks and services, tackling a variety of engineering challenges. This role offers engaging and diverse work for someone with a broad systems engineering background.

Location: Luton/Harwell – 1 day a week, Corsham – 5 days a week (Security Clearance required)

Experience:

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in satellite communications systems engineering.
  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Space System Engineering, Electronics, Communications) or equivalent qualifications/experience.

Satcoms Expertise:

  • In-depth experience in satellite systems engineering, ground segment design, satellite operations, and payload engineering.

Networking Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with IP networking, protocols, and data security.

Systems Engineering:

  • Strong understanding of communications systems and engineering principles.
  • Experience in systems engineering practices, including requirements engineering, design, development, and VV&T.

Documentation Skills:

  • Proficiency in developing requirements documentation, test plans, procedures, and operational manuals.

Software Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with software development environments, languages, and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to identify and solve complex engineering problems.

Additional Experience:

  • Experience in commissioning and testing satellite systems (both satellite and ground-based).
  • Knowledge of OSS/BSS technology for managing and reporting communications networks.
  • Experience in assessing or developing security architectures in communications systems or military networks.

Software Development:

  • Proficiency in software development (Python, Java) and agile methodologies (Agile, DevOps).
