The Quality Engineer will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the Quality function, ensuring ongoing compliance with the organisation’s Quality Management System (QMS). The position involves active participation in audits, first article inspections, calibration activities, inspection strategies, and advanced product quality planning processes. Close collaboration with customers and suppliers is essential to ensure all quality expectations are consistently achieved.

As the business continues to expand, this role will adapt to evolving quality demands and will also contribute significantly to supplier quality activities.

About the Role

Responsibilities include supporting supplier development initiatives, taking part in risk-based supplier assessments, and assisting in the investigation and resolution of complex quality concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous enhancement of quality systems and processes in line with AS9100, NADCAP, and customer requirements.
  • Plan and perform internal audits and supplier assessments in accordance with QMS procedures.
  • Lead structured problem-solving activities for non-conformances, from initial containment through to root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Prepare and review First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102) and provide support for PPAP and APQP activities (AS9145).
  • Apply appropriate quality tools to ensure product conformity throughout all stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Monitor and analyse quality performance metrics to identify trends and implement improvement actions both internally and across the supply chain.
  • Enhance incoming inspection processes for externally sourced materials and components.
  • Oversee supplier qualification activities, including approval processes and evaluation of FAIR and PPAP submissions.
