£45,000 – £55,000 DOE

Are you a skilled Project Engineer with the confidence to lead complex automation projects from concept to completion? We’re working with a cutting-edge industrial automation company delivering high-spec robotic and electromechanical systems to leading names in aerospace, defence, and renewables.

They’re looking for someone who not only understands the technical side of automation but can lead teams, manage stakeholders, and drive results in fast-paced environments.

Your Role:

  • Lead the full lifecycle of bespoke automation projects – from concept to commissioning
  • Own client relationships, stakeholder communication, and delivery standards
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (controls, software, mechanical, workshop)
  • Manage documentation, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Provide technical input for proposals and support business development
  • Oversee workshop execution and quality assurance
  • Travel to client and supplier sites as needed (UK & occasional international)

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years in Project Engineering or Technical Project Management (automation, robotics, or machinery)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills
  • Proven ability to manage technical deliverables and interface with customers
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation)
  • Experience with project frameworks (APM, PRINCE2, PMP – desirable)
  • Hands-on exposure to:
  • Robotics (ABB, KUKA, FANUC)
  • Machine vision systems (2D/3D)
  • Motion control and electromechanical systems
  • CE compliance and risk assessments
