We are seeking an experienced Product Development Engineer (Electronics) to support a major international engineering programme focused on the development and optimisation of industrial drive and motor control products.

Working within a highly respected R&D environment, you'll collaborate with engineering teams across the UK and China to deliver innovative design solutions, improve product cost efficiency, and support the ongoing development of cutting-edge power electronics technology. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working on products from concept through to manufacture.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the development and enhancement of industrial drive and motor control products.
  • Designing and developing analogue, digital, and power electronic circuits.
  • Contributing to product specifications, concept development, and project planning.
  • Carrying out design validation through simulation, testing, and prototyping.
  • Supporting product introduction into manufacturing environments.
  • Working closely with international engineering teams to implement design changes and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Assisting with product approvals and compliance activities.
  • Collaborating with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Supporting engineering activities throughout the full product lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within a product development, R&D, or electronics design environment.
  • Strong background in power electronics and motor control systems.
  • Experience designing analogue and digital electronic circuits.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage power electronics applications.
  • Experience taking products through the full design lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with design validation, testing, and product verification.
  • Experience using electronic CAD software for schematic and PCB design.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work within international teams.

Desirable Experience

  • AC drives, variable speed drives, or industrial motor control products.
  • EMC design and testing.
  • High-voltage DC systems (up to 800V DC).
  • Zuken CR8000, LTspice, MATLAB or similar design tools.
  • Mandarin or German language skills.
  • Experience working within global engineering organisations.
