About the Role
We are looking for a Principal Engineer - Product Safety to play a critical role in ensuring the safety of complex, safety-critical engineering systems. You will lead on hazard identification, risk analysis and safety case development, working closely with Technical Authorities to ensure that products meet stringent safety requirements across the full engineering lifecycle. This is a key position where you’ll act as both a technical specialist and a thought leader, influencing design decisions and ensuring risks are reduced as low as reasonably practicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead hazard identification, risk assessment and mitigation activities
- Develop and maintain hazard logs and safety case arguments
- Conduct and facilitate HAZID workshops and safety reviews
- Support Technical Authorities in ensuring safe design solutions
- Assess product safety across complex subsystems and technologies
- Review and verify quality and completeness of safety submissions
- Lead on product safety activities within assigned equipment areas
- Support and guide junior engineers where required
