We are seeking an experienced Principal Substation Primary (HV Plant) Design Engineer to lead technical delivery and team development on major electricity transmission projects. Role Overview: Role: Principal Substation Primary (HV Plant) Design Engineer Location: Glasgow (Office/Hybrid options also available in Leeds, Birmingham, or Epsom) Duration: 12 Months Rate: Up to £90- £95/hr (Inside IR35 / Umbrella) Clearance: Must hold or be eligible for BPSS security clearance Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership: Lead FEED and detailed design workstreams for high-voltage (HV) transmission substation projects, ensuring full compliance and technical integrity. Team Leadership Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards it). HV Expertise: Proven track record in primary plant design for substations (UK grid standards knowledge strongly preferred). Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams, resourcing, and technical quality control. Standards: Strong working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, National Grid standards).
