We are looking for a highly capable Sub-contract Programme Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of high-value subcontracted services within a major shipbuilding programme. This is a pivotal role where you will manage the full subcontract lifecycle—from supplier sourcing and tendering through to contract execution and close-out.
You will play a key role in ensuring subcontracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Using your expertise in NEC3/NEC4 contracts, you’ll proactively identify risks, support robust commercial outcomes, and foster strong collaboration between suppliers and internal delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the successful delivery of strategically important on-site subcontracts with a combined value exceeding £50m, ensuring alignment with time, cost, and quality objectives.
- Manage subcontractor performance through regular engagement, reviews, and KPI tracking.
- Provide weekly and monthly reporting on progress, financial performance, and risks to senior stakeholders.
- Support dispute resolution processes, working closely with key stakeholders to achieve positive commercial outcomes and resolve claims.
- Maintain high standards across Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) compliance.
- Promote a collaborative “One Team” culture across all stakeholders and suppliers.
- Proven experience in contract management within a supply chain environment (defence, aerospace, automotive, or similar sectors).
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, processes, and best practices.
- Experience interpreting and managing customer requirements within complex programmes.
- Knowledge of legal frameworks relating to purchasing contracts and supplier agreements.
