Power Systems Consultant (EMT & RMS Studies)
The consultant will support power system projects across multiple phases by delivering high-quality electrical studies and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and validate EMT and RMS models for assets such as WTGs, PPCs, and STATCOMs.
- Plan and execute design and Grid Code compliance studies, including small-disturbance and fault analyses.
- Produce clear, audit-ready technical reports for internal review and external compliance submissions.
- Interface with OEMs to obtain, validate, and parameterize vendor models.
- Summarize study outcomes, recommend mitigations, and ensure quality in line with Ørsted standards across multiple projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering (BEng/MSc/PhD or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience with PSCAD for EMT studies, including relevant add-ons and analysis modules.
- Proven experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory for steady-state and RMS studies.
- Experience working with vendor models and parameterization for grid compliance.
- Scripting/automation skills for study workflows and post-processing.
- Experience coordinating with OEMs on model delivery, validation, and updates, with strong data confidentiality practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear technical reports.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to Ørsted methodologies, documentation standards, and QA processes.
Nice to Have
- Experience with National Grid ESO EMT guidelines and evidence requirements.
- Exposure to grid-forming controls and/or advanced STATCOM functionality.
