We are currently seeking experienced M&E Operatives to join an ongoing infrastructure project based in Melksham. This role requires candidates with proven experience working within regulated utility or infrastructure environments, holding valid National Grid authorisation alongside Slinger Signaller certification. The successful candidate will support mechanical and electrical installation activities on site while ensuring all lifting operations, material handling, and day-to-day works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with strict site safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical and electrical installation works in accordance with project specifications and site requirements.
- Support day-to-day site operations across ongoing infrastructure and engineering activities.
- Assist with the movement, positioning, and installation of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform lifting operations safely while working as part of controlled lifting activities in line with Slinger Signaller responsibilities.
- Work alongside engineers, supervisors, and site teams to ensure work is delivered safely and on schedule.
- Carry out manual handling tasks safely in accordance with company procedures and site regulations.
- Assist with equipment setup, maintenance, and preparation of work areas.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
- Follow all site-specific health and safety procedures, permits, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Support wider operational teams to ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved.
Essential Requirements
- Valid National Grid Authorisation (Essential - non-negotiable)
- Slinger Signaller Certification
- Manual Handling experience and understanding of safe lifting procedures
- Previous experience working within mechanical, electrical, industrial, utilities, or infrastructure environments
- Strong awareness of health and safety regulations within high-risk working environments
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining high standards of work quality
