Project Type: Life Sciences Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the delivery of mechanical systems during the shell & core phase of a new-build life sciences facility. Oversee mechanical works across HVAC, CHW, LTHW, plantroom installation, and associated infrastructure. Coordinate with subcontractors and internal site teams to ensure installation is executed to programme, safety standards, and technical compliance requirements. Work closely with the design and engineering teams to address technical queries and ensure mechanical systems are built in line with design intent and regulatory standards. Report directly to the Project Manager, providing regular progress updates, highlighting risks, and contributing to project planning and coordination activities. Attend and contribute to weekly progress, coordination, and subcontractor meetings. Ensure that mechanical works are delivered to the highest quality and safety standards, and in accordance with project documentation and specifications. Support pre-commissioning and handover preparation for mechanical systems. Qualification ~ Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline; alternatively, a strong trade background with proven supervisory experience. ~7+ years of mechanical construction experience on large-scale industrial or life sciences projects. ~ Solid understanding of HVAC and mechanical infrastructure delivery in controlled or regulated environments. ~ Proven ability to manage subcontractors, monitor progress, and coordinate mechanical works to meet tight deadlines. ~ Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems relevant to shell & core delivery. ~ Familiarity with construction documentation, quality assurance procedures, and commissioning interface requirements. ~ Excellent communication and coordination skills; able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project team.
