Design and specify mechanical systems for generator and power infrastructure projects, including fuel, cooling, exhaust, and ventilation systems. Support project delivery from initial handover through to installation and commissioning. Provide technical support to Engineering, Projects, and Sales teams during pre-contract and delivery phases. Produce mechanical design documentation, including drawings, calculations, specifications, method statements, and risk assessments. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure equipment compliance with project requirements. Attend site visits, factory acceptance tests, and commissioning activities as required (UK and/or Europe). Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes, and documentation. Support preparation of Operations & Maintenance manuals and as-built documentation.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- ~3–5 years’ experience in a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Design Engineer role ideally on data centre projects.
- Experience working on generator systems, engines, HVAC, fuel systems, or power infrastructure projects (desirable).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or other mechanical design software.
- Understanding of relevant UK and international mechanical standards.
