We are currently seeking an experienced BIM Manager to join a leading M&E Engineering company supporting works on the HS2 project in Birmingham. Based out of our London office, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the BIM strategy, governance, and delivery across major infrastructure and rail projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and project objectives. This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects, driving digital construction excellence and supporting multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of BIM processes across multiple projects and workstreams.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), BIM protocols, and information management procedures.
  • Oversee BIM delivery teams, including BIM Coordinators and BIM Technicians, ensuring high-quality model production and project compliance.
  • Establish and monitor BIM standards, workflows, and quality assurance procedures in accordance with project requirements and industry best practice.
  • Ensure compliance with client standards, HS2 requirements, and ISO 19650 information management principles.
  • Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE), ensuring effective information exchange, document control, and model management processes.
  • Chair BIM coordination meetings and provide strategic guidance to project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Review federated models, clash detection reports, and BIM deliverables to ensure coordination issues are effectively managed and resolved.
  • Support project teams in developing digital engineering solutions and innovative BIM workflows.
  • Provide BIM training, mentoring, and technical support to internal teams to drive BIM capability and best practice.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all BIM-related matters across assigned projects.
  • Monitor project performance against BIM deliverables, programme milestones, and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a BIM Manager within M&E Building Services, Construction, Engineering, or Infrastructure sectors.
  • Extensive knowledge of BIM standards, information management processes, and digital construction methodologies.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit MEP, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience managing BIM delivery on large-scale infrastructure, rail, commercial, or complex construction projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ISO 19650, BIM Level 2 requirements, and Common Data Environment (CDE) management.
  • Experience developing and implementing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), Employer's Information Requirements (EIRs), and project BIM standards.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and team development skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working on HS2, rail, or major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with Common Data Environments such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, ProjectWise, or Asite.
  • Knowledge of digital engineering, asset information management, and project handover requirements.
  • Experience leading BIM teams within an M&E contractor, engineering consultancy, or principal contractor environment.
  • Professional accreditation or relevant BIM, Digital Construction, or Information Management qualifications.
