We are currently recruiting for a Skilled Operative to join a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project based in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale renewable energy infrastructure project, supporting the construction and installation of critical electrical and civil infrastructure. The successful candidate will have previous experience working within BESS, electrical infrastructure, utilities, energy, or power generation environments and be comfortable carrying out a range of civil and site-based activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of ducting and associated civil infrastructure.
- Assisting with cable installation and cable pulling activities.
- Supporting electrical infrastructure installation works.
- Carrying out general site duties as required.
- Assisting with trenching, backfilling, and reinstatement activities.
- Working safely around HV/LV electrical infrastructure.
- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with project specifications and health & safety requirements.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work area.
- Supporting supervisors and site management to ensure programme deadlines are achieved.
Essential Requirements
- Valid CSCS Card or CPCS Card.
- Previous experience working on BESS, electrical infrastructure, utilities, power, or energy projects.
- Experience carrying out ducting, cable pulling, and general civil works.
- Strong understanding of site health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious approach to work.
Desirable Qualifications
- SHEA Power.
- First Aid at Work.
- SSSTS.
- Additional plant or utility-related certifications.
- Experience working on National Grid, DNO, substation, or renewable energy projects.
