A leading and fast-growing Ground Support Equipment (GSE) provider is launching a brand-new workshop facility at London Gatwick, creating an exciting opportunity for a skilled Workshop Technician to join from day one and play a key role in shaping the site as it grows. This is a workshop and airside-based position, with occasional travel to support nearby airports. Company vehicles are provided on site. As this role is based airside, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain an airside pass.
You’ll be working across a wide range of airport equipment, including:
- Electric baggage tugs / belt trucks
- De-icers
- Pushback vehicles
- Specialist GSE assets
Key Responsibilities
- Planned and reactive maintenance of GSE in both workshop and airside environments
- Fault finding, repair and servicing across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Building strong relationships with customers on site (operators through to site management)
- Receiving and processing deliveries including parts, vehicles and equipment
- Coordinating statutory inspections and supporting subcontractor site visits
- Supporting workshop standards, safety compliance, and operational improvements
Essential Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with GSE / MHE / plant equipment / HGVs
- Level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- HGV Class 1 licence
Desirable (Nice to Have)
- Electric vehicle / EV maintenance experience (and relevant quals)
- Forklift licence
- Experience using diagnostic tools, telematics, and scheduling systems
