Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where accuracy, teamwork and organisation are essential? We are looking for a motivated and reliable Stores Operative to join a busy logistics team supporting a major engineering and manufacturing operation in Goole.
The Role
You'll play an important role in ensuring materials are received, stored and distributed efficiently to support production. Working within a busy warehouse environment, you'll be responsible for stock control, material movements, inventory accuracy and maintaining high standards of health and safety. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation offering long-term work within a supportive and professional team.
Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:00pm / 2:00pm - 10:00pm (Rotating)
- Friday: 6:00am - 2:00pm / 12:00pm - 6:00pm (Rotating)
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming deliveries safely.
- Check goods against delivery documentation for accuracy and quality.
- Book materials into stock using SAP.
- Pick, pack and issue materials to production teams.
- Replenish line-side stock locations.
- Process stock movements between warehouse locations.
- Carry out stock checks and inventory audits.
- Complete warehouse documentation accurately.
- Conduct routine safety checks on racking and warehouse equipment.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and support a safe working environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse and logistics processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working within a warehouse, stores or logistics environment.
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Pivot Steer Forklift experience.
- Experience using SAP, Maximo or similar warehouse management systems.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
