Are you looking to continue developing a career in Health Risk Management, Occupational Hygiene or the wider Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) profession? We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Hygiene Technician to join a specialist SHE Technical Services team supporting complex engineering and manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced Occupational Hygiene professionals, gaining hands-on experience in identifying, assessing and controlling workplace health risks while helping to protect employee health and wellbeing.

The Role

As an Occupational Hygiene Technician, you will assist in monitoring and assessing workplace exposures, helping ensure compliance with health and safety legislation while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support occupational hygiene surveys and exposure monitoring activities
  • Assist with noise, dust, fume and chemical exposure assessments
  • Collect, record and manage workplace monitoring data accurately
  • Support the preparation of health risk assessments and technical reports
  • Work closely with operational teams to identify workplace health hazards and effective control measures
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with health and safety legislation and internal standards
  • Develop technical expertise through training, mentoring and practical experience
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of workplace health and wellbeing programmes

What We're Looking For

  • Degree-qualified in a science-related discipline such as Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or similar; or Recognised Health & Safety qualification, such as NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Occupational Hygiene
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to support the delivery of projects, processes and organisational change
  • BOHS modules completed or currently working towards completion
  • Previous exposure to occupational hygiene, environmental monitoring, manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments
  • Experience supporting workplace health risk assessments

The team delivers specialist monitoring, compliance, governance and risk management activities that support safe, sustainable and legally compliant operations.
