We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Architectural Technician / Architectural Assistant (Part II) to join the design function on a major Critical National Infrastructure project in Epsom. UK SC Security Clearance is REQUIRED for this position. This is an excellent opportunity for an architectural professional to work on a technically complex and nationally significant project within a highly regulated, QA-assured design environment.

The Role

  • You will work as part of a multidisciplinary design team, contributing to the delivery of building and services design across complex and non-standard assignments.
  • You'll be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, take ownership of defined work packages and apply professional judgement to solve technical and design challenges.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
    • Developing architectural design packages from concept through to delivery
    • Supporting concept design and feasibility studies
    • Taking ownership of architectural work packages
    • Producing and reviewing technical drawings and design information
    • Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams
    • Coordinating architectural, structural, civil and MEP requirements
    • Resolving design queries and technical issues
    • Working within a QA-assured design environment
    • Ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations and relevant standards
    • Supporting design reviews and quality assurance processes
    • Contributing to sustainable design and modern methods of construction
    • Communicating technical information clearly to project stakeholders

We're Looking For

  • Degree qualified in Architecture or a related discipline
  • ARB/RIBA Part II qualified
  • Minimum 2 years' post-graduate experience
  • Experience working in a professional architectural/design environment
  • Strong experience with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning processes
  • Experience working within a controlled or highly regulated environment is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of work packages
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Active UK SC Security Clearance - ESSENTIAL
  • Experience within critical national infrastructure, nuclear, defence, energy or major infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.
