We are looking for an energetic, senior-level Electrical Consultant to join a world-class design and advanced technology practice. This role sits at the cutting edge of the Water and Industrial Process markets, delivering transformational, iconic engineering projects. If you are a problem-solver who thrives in multi-disciplinary teams and wants to lead complex technical designs, this 12-month contract offers a brilliant opportunity.
Location: Hybrid (Priority locations: Epsom, London, Peterborough, or Cambridge)
Work Pattern: Hybrid (3 days per week office/site based)
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Technical Leadership: Coordinating and managing a team of Electrical & ICA engineers to deliver complex multi-disciplinary designs.
- Deliverables: Leading the production of Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC specifications, and Control Network Architectures.
- Collaboration: Working closely with UK and overseas project management teams to deliver integrated design solutions within budget and milestones.
- Mentorship: Guiding and upskilling junior engineers, fostering technical capabilities within the wider network.
What We Are Looking For:
- Background: Proven experience managing an electrical engineering design delivery team within a consultancy or an industrial/process environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of earthing/bonding, lightning strike risk assessments, lighting designs, HAZOP, and ATEX/DSEAR installation practices.
- Software: Proficiency in digital analysis and electrical design software (e.g., Trimble / Amtech).
- Sector Knowledge: Experience with water company design codes and standards (such as WIMES) is highly preferred (though general industrial/process experience is essential).
- Qualifications: A degree in Electrical Engineering (Chartered or Incorporated status is preferred).
