Are you an experienced Dams & Reservoir Engineer looking for your next opportunity within the water and infrastructure sector? We are currently seeking a skilled Dams & Reservoir Engineer to join a specialist engineering team delivering complex and technically challenging projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to major reservoir safety, dams and hydraulic structures projects, working as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
The Role
- Provide technical input into the design and delivery of reservoir and hydraulic structures projects.
- Support the delivery of engineering design work for dams, reservoirs and hydraulic structures projects.
- Provide technical input into reservoir safety improvement schemes.
- Work on the design and assessment of earth and concrete dams, weirs and hydraulic structures.
- Produce and review technical reports, calculations, drawings and scopes of work.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, scientists and other technical disciplines.
- Support project teams in delivering work to programme, budget and quality requirements.
- Apply relevant design codes, standards and industry best practice.
- Provide technical support to clients and project stakeholders where required.
- Support bids, tenders and technical proposals.
- Contribute to design reviews and quality assurance processes.
- Work closely with more senior engineers and support the development of less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
- Ensure engineering activities comply with relevant health, safety and environmental requirements, including CDM Regulations.
About You
- A strong background in dams, reservoirs and hydraulic structures, ideally gained within the Water sector or a specialist engineering consultancy.
- A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or be working towards professional registration.
- Relevant experience in dams, reservoirs and hydraulic structures engineering.
- Experience working on reservoir safety improvement projects.
- Practical experience with earth and/or concrete dams.
- Experience with weirs and hydraulic structures.
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Good knowledge of relevant design codes, standards and industry best practice.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider project team.
- Water sector experience is essential.
