We are seeking an experienced Electrical-Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in Onshore High Voltage (HV) Cables and HV Cable Jointing for a short-term project at Ipswich 400kV Substation. The successful candidate will oversee and witness cable repair activities, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with OEM procedures and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Witness the cable repair process from start to finish
- Observe and verify High Voltage testing activities
- Ensure compliance with OEM cable jointing procedures
- Inspect materials, workmanship, and installation quality
- Monitor adherence to project specifications and safety requirements
- Produce a detailed inspection and completion report
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience working on Onshore HV Cable projects
- Hands-on HV Cable Jointing experience is essential
- Experience witnessing HV testing activities
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and inspection processes
- Ability to produce clear technical reports
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
Location Requirement
Due to the nature and duration of the assignment, preference will be given to candidates based in or near the Ipswich area.
