The Role
As an Electrical Build Technician, you'll be responsible for the build and assembly of complex electrical systems and sub-assemblies, working to high quality, ISO, and customer standards. You'll play a key role in supporting production efficiency, mentoring junior technicians, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Build electrical systems, sub-assemblies, and piece parts to required quality standards
- Ensure BOMs and customer specifications are met
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve build issues efficiently
- Report technical issues through the FRACAS process
- Provide build sequence guidance and technical support to the team
- Mentor and support junior technicians
- Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and H&S (5S)
- Contribute to continuous improvement across production
- Work to a rotating shift pattern as directed by the Team Leader
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience building electrical systems, ideally for complex or special-purpose machinery
- Strong background in electrical wiring and panel building
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
- Hands-on experience with:
- Control panels
- MCBs, contactors, and relays
- Inverter drives and PLCs
- Cable crimping, soldering, and termination
Desirable Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship
- 16th or 17th Edition Electrical qualification
- HNC / HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- City & Guilds Electrical / Electronic qualifications
- Other relevant electrical certifications
Shift Pattern
- Early: 06:00 - 14:00 (Mon-Thurs)
- Afternoon: 14:00 - 22:00 (Mon-Thurs)
- Friday: 06:00 - 11:00 or 11:00 - 16:00 (4 x 8-hour shifts + 1 x 5-hour shift per week)
