The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Production Operative to join an established aerospace manufacturing environment on a night shift basis. You will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling and machining various aerospace components, working from engineering drawings and route cards to produce high-quality finished components that meet strict aerospace standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and weld aerospace components using resistance/seam and automated TIG welding equipment.
- Work with a range of materials including stainless steel, titanium and Inconel.
- Form and trim bellows using automated, semi-automated and manual machinery.
- Work closely with the laboratory to ensure weld testing meets requirements.
- Work accurately from engineering drawings and route cards.
- Operate lathes, milling and drilling machines.
- Maintain required operator verification approvals and follow relevant procedures.
- Work efficiently to agreed quality and production standards.
- Support continuous improvement and improved working methods where possible.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness on the shop floor.
- Follow all relevant Health & Safety, Fire, AWPS and operating procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a wider team and maintain a flexible approach.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating lathes, milling and drilling machines.
- Experience using a variety of hand tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and routing instructions.
- Good communication and written skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to problem-solve and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Flexible and reliable approach to teamwork.
Qualifications
Secondary school qualifications (English and Maths), with a combination of relevant experience. Additional vocational training and certifications in a related field is desirable.
