We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Central Engineering team of a leading international engineering and construction organisation in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical engineer with 5+ years' post-graduate experience to work on major projects across the Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences and Industrial sectors. The role combines electrical engineering, design coordination and construction support, giving you the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle and alongside experienced engineering, project management and construction teams.
The Role
- Support the delivery of electrical design packages and provide technical engineering input across projects, including:
- Supporting electrical design activities from development through to construction and handover.
- Reviewing electrical designs, drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
- Assisting with scopes of work, TIDPs and design responsibility matrices.
- Identifying design risks, scope gaps and opportunities for optimisation.
- Supporting tendering and pre-construction/PCSA activities.
- Assisting with design deliverables and approval processes.
- Supporting procurement and construction planning.
- Coordinating electrical interfaces with CSA, mechanical and other disciplines.
- Reviewing designs for technical compliance and constructability.
- Conducting site visits and monitoring progress and quality.
- Providing technical support to construction teams.
- Reviewing technical submittals and responding to technical queries.
- Supporting value engineering and off-site manufacturing initiatives.
- Maintaining RFIs, design changes, deviations, interface and other project registers.
- Preparing technical documentation and handover information.
- Attending client, consultant and design coordination meetings.
About You
We are looking for an electrical engineer with a strong technical foundation and practical understanding of project delivery. You should have:
- 5+ years' post-graduate electrical engineering experience.
- Experience in the Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or Industrial sectors.
- Strong electrical engineering and design knowledge.
- An understanding of construction and design constructability.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience participating in technical or design coordination meetings.
- Strong knowledge of BIM/Revit and relevant engineering software.
- Good technical reporting and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
- A full clean driving licence.
Previous contractor experience, data centre/mission-critical exposure, Chartered Engineer status or progression towards Chartership, and knowledge of ACC/BIM 360 would be advantageous.
