Our client has an impressive finishing plant at their Denham site and this role will be focused on masking, bead blasting and surface preparation tasks for painting. You'll have the opportunity to be fully involved with the painting strategy, and the team is proud of the quality levels involved with their finishing processes which contribute to the success of ejector seats produced onsite, ultimately saving lives.
Responsibilities
- Accurately interpret engineering drawings, instructions and build plans so that part numbers, process specifications and finishes are accurately identified and applied.
- Assist with continuous improvement aspects relating to masking and painting processes.
- Work with various masking materials and glass and plastic bead media.
- Deliver finishing processes with operating procedures and process specifications, ensuring that high quality standards are achieved.
- Follow relevant health and safety regulations, including risk assessments, COSHH assessments and material safety data sheets.
- Complete tasks to required work schedules, working with efficiency.
- Ensure that components and tools are appropriately handled.
- Input with reviewing the effectiveness of equipment and tools.
Characteristics & Skills
- Solid experience with surface preparation processes, including masking and bead blasting.
- Experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Full understanding of health and safety and COSHH regulations relating to hazardous substances.
- Experience of working in manufacturing organisations.
