An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to lead operational delivery within a complex engineering and manufacturing environment.
Working across multiple functions including Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality, you will be responsible for driving operational performance, improving productivity, ensuring customer commitments are met and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the business. The Operations Manager acts as the bridge between IPT Teams (integrated Portfolio Team) and Manufacturing and Delivery.
This role would suit an experienced Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager or Operations Lead looking to make a significant impact within a growing, high-technology engineering organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities to ensure delivery targets are achieved.
- Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality and operational performance.
- Manage production planning, resource allocation and capacity requirements.
- Support make-versus-buy decisions alongside Engineering and Supply Chain teams.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards and health & safety requirements.
- Support new product introductions and operational readiness activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Finance.
- Lead and influence teams within a matrix management environment.
We're looking for someone with:
- Proven Operations Management experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of production planning, operational performance and process improvement.
- Experience using Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production management processes.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working within complex manufacturing or project-based environments.
- Experience within Defence, Aerospace, Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing or other highly regulated sectors would be advantageous.
