About the Opportunity
Are you a creative hardware designer looking to see your designs manufactured at scale on a global level? We are looking for an R&D Electronics Engineer to join an award-winning Motion Control (MC) division in Cheshire. In this role, you will be part of a highly collaborative, cross‑functional team driving the full‑lifecycle development of market‑leading industrial products. From early‑stage simulation and 400V 3‑phase circuit design to prototyping, testing, and supporting high‑volume global manufacture—you will have complete engineering ownership of your products.
What’s in it for you?
- Award‑Winning Culture: Work at a premier, state‑of‑the‑art R&D and manufacturing facility recognized for innovation.
- True Lifecycle Ownership: Move away from pure maintenance engineering. Shape products from initial concept sketches all the way to global factory launch.
- Modern Hybrid Working: Enjoy a balanced 2‑3 days onsite model built around project deliverables and laboratory validation phases, offering real autonomy.
Your Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic and power circuits for 400V 3‑phase systems operating in harsh environments.
- Use advanced simulation tools to analyze power losses, lifetimes, and timing.
- Design with high‑volume manufacturing (DFM) and unit cost targets in mind.
- Validate designs through rigorous prototyping, lab testing, and compliance approvals (EMC, UL).
- Collaborate with global factory networks and suppliers to seamlessly introduce product updates without disrupting live production.
What You’ll Need to Qualify
- Education: A Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical subject.
- Power Electronics Track Record: Direct experience with 3‑phase systems, ideally involving AC drives, inverters, or motor control.
- CAD Capability: Strong competency in schematic capture and PCB layout (experience with Zuken CR8000 is a major plus, though Altium/Cadence users are encouraged to apply).
- Lifecycle Experience: Proven involvement in taking industrial electronic hardware from concept through validation to product launch.
- Mindset: A curious, collaborative approach to creative problem‑solving.
