We are seeking an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to join a leading aerospace manufacturing business on a long term contract basis. You will be responsible for setting, programming and operating CNC milling and turning machines to manufacture precision components for aircraft interiors.
Hours: 39 hours per week (Monday to Thursday: 07:00 to 16:00 - Friday: 07:00 to 12:00)
Rate: £24.00 per hour PAYE
Contract Length: 6 Months+
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and operate a range of Fanuc controlled CNC milling and turning machines.
- Produce low volume, high mix precision components to engineering specifications.
- Create and edit basic CNC programmes using G and M code.
- Prove out new and existing programmes.
- Carry out self inspection using a range of measuring equipment.
- Perform routine machine maintenance (TPM).
Requirements:
- City and Guilds CNC/NC qualification or at least 5 years' CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment.
- Strong CNC milling and/or turning background.
- Good knowledge of Fanuc controls.
- Experience with machine tooling and inspection equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of metallurgy.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience delivering process improvement projects.
