We are seeking an experienced RAMS, PRAMS, Reliability or Systems Engineer to support the delivery of major rail and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will provide specialist engineering and assurance expertise across Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS), supporting the development, management and assurance of systems throughout the project lifecycle. The role will work closely with engineering, project, assurance, safety and operational teams to ensure that systems and assets meet the required technical, reliability, maintainability and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage RAMS and PRAMS requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and maintain RAMS plans, strategies, cases and supporting documentation. Undertake reliability, availability and maintainability analysis and assessments. Develop and maintain reliability predictions, failure analyses and associated engineering models. Undertake FMEA/FMECA, fault tree analysis and other appropriate reliability and safety assessments. Identify and manage technical, reliability and safety risks. Support the development and management of system requirements and technical specifications. Ensure RAMS requirements are appropriately allocated to systems, subsystems, suppliers and assets. Review and assess supplier and contractor RAMS submissions. Provide RAMS and systems assurance throughout design, construction, testing and commissioning. Support verification and validation activities to demonstrate compliance with specified requirements. Develop and review safety and assurance cases where required. Monitor RAMS performance and identify trends, deficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Provide technical input into design reviews, hazard workshops, risk assessments and engineering meetings. Support the management of non-conformances, defects, technical queries and engineering changes. Review engineering evidence and documentation to ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements. Liaise with clients, contractors, designers, suppliers and other project stakeholders. Prepare technical reports, RAMS assessments, assurance documentation and presentations. Support audits, assurance reviews and independent technical assessments. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, project procedures and client requirements. Experience & Qualifications Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Proven experience in RAMS, PRAMS, Reliability, Systems Engineering or Engineering Assurance. Experience working on major rail, transport, infrastructure or other safety-critical projects. Strong understanding of RAMS principles and lifecycle management. Experience with reliability and maintainability analysis. Experience with FMEA/FMECA, fault tree analysis and failure analysis. Experience developing and reviewing technical assurance documentation. Knowledge of systems engineering principles and requirements management. Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams. Strong technical report writing and communication skills. Ability to analyse complex technical information and communicate findings clearly. Experience working within structured engineering assurance and safety processes. Desirable Experience Previous experience within the UK rail industry. Network Rail, TfL, London Underground or major rail infrastructure experience. Experience with CSM-RA and railway safety assurance. Knowledge of EN 50126 / EN 50128 / EN 50129 or equivalent RAMS standards. Experience with GRIP/PACE or other formal project lifecycle processes. Experience with railway systems such as signalling, telecommunications, rolling stock, traction power, OLE or station systems. Membership of a relevant professional engineering institution. Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
